Enrol on our Weapons Workshop in Harpenden

The use of weapons has become increasingly evident during attacks in Milton Keynes and Hertfordshire. According to MKFM (2018), there have been reports of a stabbing in Milton Keynes. An officer at the scene was quoted in saying, ‘this was a concerning incident that took place in the centre of Milton Keynes.’ Unfortunately, knife crimes have become frequent with more people suffering severe or fatal injuries as a result of this heinous crime.

On the 7th of October, KMDT are hosting a Weapons Workshop at Roundwood Park School in Harpenden from 11am to 1pm. This workshop is specifically designed to provide participants with different Krav Maga self defence techniques that are effective when tackling knife crime. Furthermore, students will also understand the triggers that usually lead to a potentially dangerous situation.

This is an extremely important element to preventing knife crime, as students will learn how to diffuse the situation immediately before any damage has been caused. This technique is known as situational awareness, which will be explored at great length during the workshop. Participants will understand how their environment can be an easy and effective tool when dealing with threats. During the workshop, students will understand how to defend themselves against various knife attacks.

The objective of this workshop is to make all participants feel confident, empowered and safe by teaching them realistic defences against knife crimes. At the end of this workshop, all students will be equipped with a variety of strategies and techniques to protect themselves, in an attempt to stop them becoming victims. This workshop is open to both members of KMDT and the public, with the price of admission listed as £29.99. Self Defence

Why train with KMDT?

KMDT teaches members realistic self defence techniques including Krav Maga and Aikido. These techniques can be utilised in a variety of different scenarios and have proved extremely effective when dealing with attackers. We understand and appreciate that each student has different capabilities and individual learning styles. Therefore, we strive to accommodate all of our student’s needs. The KMDT training system can be adapted for anyone despite a learning or physical disability.

Since the company’s inception, KMDT has created an ego-free environment, where each student supports and encourages each other to reach their individual milestones. Building the company in this fashion allows new and existing members to feel empowered, a strong sense of belonging and supported by everyone in the organisation.

With our members including both adults and junior students, we are the first Krav Maga organisation to encourage both levels to train together. Structuring our classes in this manner increases the bond between parents and their children, strengthening the trust and respect within a family. By training under our system, members feel an immediate boost of confidence and a dramatic increase in fitness.

Our instructor team is highly experienced in a number of different fields ranging from nutrition to physiotherapy. Using their invaluable experience and knowledge, the instructor team is dedicated and focussed on helping students with every aspect of their training to ensure their journey in KMDT is continuously beneficial during their time with the organisation. Due to the rapid progression of our juniors, we are the first Krav Maga organisation to offer junior assistant instructor courses to a select number of our juniors. After completing the course in July of 2017, the assistant instructors are now assisting all members, proving that age is not a limitation to what they can achieve.

At KMDT, we recognise the importance of a student’s mental health and believe it’s just as important as their physical health. KMDT is the only Krav Maga organisation that offers a free counselling service to all of its members. We actively encourage members to speak out about any mental health issues they may be experiencing. If some members choose to utilise the service, they are paired with experienced NLP practitioners to assist them with their hardships. If you wish to join our organisation, please visit www.kmdt.co.uk and contact us to begin your journey of empowerment and fulfilment.

Combat Bullying With KMDT

In recent years, there has been a clear rise with bullying in schools. A large number of children have spoken out and talked about traumatic experiences where they have been bullied. With approximately 60 of our members being juniors, we at KMDT see the effects of bullying on many juniors when they first join the club. KMDT teaches realistic de-escalation and self-defense techniques in Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes that can be utilised to prevent harmful or dangerous situations, which are commonplace with bullying. These scenarios include shirt grabbing, finger pointing, physical and verbal abuse.

Unfortunately, research and testimonials show that people with a lack of confidence are a prime target for bullies. KMDT prides itself on providing our members with the confidence they need to deal with any bullying that takes place. Through a free counseling service that KMDT offers to all members, we provide techniques and coping strategies, which have proved very effective in counteracting bullying. The KMDT system rapidly builds confidence and self-assurance for our members. Consequently, bullies are unlikely to target people that clearly display confidence.

Furthermore, we also teach the important tool of de-escalation, showing students how to adapt their body language and tone of voice to avoid physical confrontations. However, despite a person’s best effort to avoid a confrontation, bullies may still attempt to damage or hurt people. In situations such as this, KMDT techniques can be easily utilised and is likely to prevent any significant damage to the victim.

At KMDT, students are taught about the importance of situational awareness. We believe it’s crucial for students to recognise the important signs that usually lead to a potential conflict. Their awareness of such predicaments allows them to reflect upon the techniques they learn in classes and implement them if needed. KMDT also launched an anti-bullying petition that received over 100 signatures in the first week, proving that people recognise this as a serious issue and believe in the work we’re doing to counteract it.
